The focus of our services is not the application of asphalt, but the maintenance of it. Therefore all of our services are geared toward existing asphalt surfaces.
All asphalt requires maintenance. Age, weather, and use can cause asphalt to breakdown over time. In addition, it is necessary to maintain proper pavement markings and signage in parking lots and on roadways to ensure safety.

Proper layout of parking spaces ensures that the parking potential of your lot is maximized. Pavement markings aid traffic flow and ensure the safety of both drivers and pedestrians. There are strict federal, state, and municipal guidelines involved in the layout of these markings.
Our crews are trained in the methods of layout that will best maximize parking and facilitate traffic flow. They are versed in federal, state and municipal requirements so that all of work meets these codes. And we use fast-dry, high-traffic paints to ensure that the product has proper visibility and is long-lasting.
The signs on a parking lot indicate to drivers where to park, drive, and the presence of hazards such as intersections and pedestrian crosswalks. Federal laws also dictate the requirements for ADA handicap parking signage including maximum penalty and van accessible indicators.
We stock all of these signs so that they are available for installation. Each sign that we install is placed on galvanized u-channel posts to prevent rusting. In addition, we can produce custom signs that meet the specific needs of your business or parking lot. We can even work with you to replicate company logos for parking signs.
Asphalt sealcoating can be compared to the protective powers of an SPF moisturizer that you apply to your skin. It protects your asphalt surface in the following ways:
- Shields against the drying action of the sun and ultraviolet rays.
- Prevents water penetration.
- Resists damage caused by gasoline and oil.
- Bonds firmly to the surface to provide an even-textured, durable barrier
- Restores that rich, black look of new pavement.
Our sealer is combined with latex and sand in a specified mix formula to guarantee a durable finish. The product is applied from agitated tanks via spray application to provide a smooth finish. Sealer applied near buildings, walkways and landscaping is hand-applied to protect these surfaces.
asphalt Repair / crackfilling
The most important reason to address cracks in your asphalt surface is the damage that can be caused by water penetration and the vegetation that take advantage of these cracks. As vegetation takes root in the cracks in asphalt, the roots begin to grow and cause the crack to expand. When water penetrates the crack, it causes the ground underneath the asphalt to become soft and a pothole can form. If this moisture under the surface freezes, it can push the surface of the asphalt apart and create damage more quickly.
To treat these cracks, we begin by using a hot lance/compression system that burns vegetation and cleans the crack of debris. A special machine is used to apply a heated, rubberized component to fill the crack to prevent moisture and vegetation penetration. Because this crackfiller is rubberized, it can expand and contract with your asphalt to prevent further damage.
If the sub-base beneath the asphalt surface is compromised by water or excessive wear, the asphalt will begin to crack or “alligator” and will eventually form a pothole. The only way to truly remedy this problem is to repair the sub-base and make it strong again.
To accomplish this, we sawcut the area of damaged asphalt to create an even, finished look. The sub-base is recompacted and fortified with stone, and hot asphalt mix is reapplied in layers to provide a strong finished surface
Thermoplastic pavement markings are a special blend of binders and resins that are in a liquid state when heated and in a hardened, glassy state when cooled. Thermoplastic can endure many cycles of heating and cooling without breakage, which makes them ideal for use in high traffic areas. Thermoplastic pavement markings are used primarily on roadways and in high- traffic areas of parking lots such as crosswalks, stop bars, and directional arrows.
New Dimensions has a thermoplastic detail rig with two melting units for white and yellow thermoplastic. The thermoplastic is dispensed into heated hand-liners that create an extruded application, and glass beads are dispensed on the surface of the molten thermoplastic to provide reflectivity.
Because we use thermoplastic hand-liners, we have more freedom for marking layout then could be attained by preform thermoplastics. It is also a more cost-effective method, which makes it more affordable for your budget.
Roadway marking include any markings applied to the pavement such as paint, raised pavement markers and special pavement treatments. Markings have a definite and important function to perform in a proper scheme of traffic control. In some cases, they are used to supplement the regulations or warnings of other devices such as traffic signs and signals. They are also used alone and produce results that cannot be obtained by the use of any other device.
The most common method of placing pavement markings is by the use of paint. Pavement markings are typically yellow or white. Yellow lines delineate the separation of traffic flows in opposing directions or mark the left edge of a divided highway. White lines delineate the separation of traffic flows in the same direction or mark the right edgeline. Broken lines are permissive in character, and solid lines are restrictive in character.
New Dimensions uses a truck specially designed for these paint applications that meets State and Federal application standards. The glass bead dispenser is air-atomized for proper reflectivity, and all paint products used are designed specifically for the needs of high-traffic roadways.
